How to make Stir-fried Hakka noodles

According to Wikipedia, Hakka cuisine, is the cooking style of the Hakka people, who may also be found in other parts of Taiwan and in countries with significant overseas Hakka communities.

Hakka Noodles Recipe is one of the most famous Indo-Chinese recipe in India. Hakka Noodles are made from plain boiled noodles, stir fried with sauces and vegetables.  Its very easy and fast cooking recipe and it is specially very famous among the kids.  Cooking Hakka noodles requires very less preparation time and you can make Hakka noodles in less then 10 minutes. I am here using Ching’s Hakka noodles, but you can use any other brand also.

Let’s Cook Hakka Noodles

Ingredients Required :

Hakka Noodles – 1 pack (150 gm)

Green chili – 2 (silted)

Onion – 1 medium sized (Sliced)

Capsicum – 1 medium sized (Sliced)

Cabbage – 1 small cup (Shredded)

Vinegar – 1 tsp

Soy Sauce – 1 tsp

Green Chili Sauce – 1 tbsp (as per taste – you can add more if reqd)

Tomato Ketchup – 1 tbsp

Black Pepper – 1/2 tsp

Salt – to taste

Oil – for cooking

You can add other vegetables also. As its Lockdown , so I cooked with the available vegetables.

Procedure: –

First of all, boil 4 cups of water in a vessel, 1/2 tbsp oil and add noodles.

Tender Boil the noodles (i.e. boil 3), do not over cook the noodles.

Boiled Noodles

Off the Flame and Drain water. Wash the noodles with tap water or cold water and Keep them aside.

Toss noodles with fork to avoid sticking.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in the pan and add green chilies, onion and stir fry them for 2 minutes

Add other chopped vegetables and stir fry them. Cook these veggies till soft.

Stir frying vegetables

Add salt, black pepper, vinegar, Soy sauce green chili sauce, Tomato Ketchup, and toss them immediately to blend the flavors.

Saute vegetables till little crisp and then add boiled noodles.

Mix the noodles well and toss on high flame.

Garnish with Spring onions (optional) & Serve the piping hot noodles 🙂

Tips :

Do not over cook the noodles while boiling as they become Soggy.

You can add other vegetable also like Beans (finely chopped), Bell pepper (sliced), Mushrooms (finely chopped) – ( depending on the taste)
