Raw Mango Chutney

HOW TO MAKE RIPE MANGO CHUTNEY (CHUNDA)

Mangoes are main available fruit of summers in India. Both Raw mangoes are sour in taste and are used generally for chutney, pickle, aam panna, etc. Ripe Mango chutney is sweet and sour. Chunda is basically a Gujarati dish and it is prepared in two ways.

One is only salty and spicy which is served with paratha’s (flat bread), chapatti. And other one is sweet which is also served with chapatti, as a jam with bread.

Lets make the sweet ripe mango chutney and enjoy the summers 🙂

Ingredients Required: –

  • Ripe mangoes – 1 kg (around 4-5)
  • Sugar – 750 gm (change quantity as per taste)
  • Fennel seeds – 1 tbsp (u can use powdered fennel seeds)
  • Roasted Cumin Powder – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Black salt – 1 tsp

Procedure: –

  • First of all, peel ripe mangoes and grate them
  • Keep the grated mangoes in bowl
  • Now take pan or kadai and heat it.
  • Add grated mangoes and stir it.
  • Now add sugar, fennel seeds, salt, black salt.

  • Mix well and cook till sugar dissolves.
  • Now add roasted cumin powder and again mix well.

  • Now off the flame.
  • Serve it with chapatti’s or as per taste.
  • Store it in glass container under Refrigeration.

You can also make spicy mango chutney. I have made the sweet chutney so whenever I will make the spicy one will post its picture’s also.

So, for making the spicy chutney follow the below steps.

Ingredients Required: –

  • Ripe mangoes – 1 kg (around 4-5)
  • Sugar – 1.2 kg (500 gm)
  • Fennel seeds – 1 tbsp (u can use powdered fennel seeds)
  • Roasted Cumin Powder – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Black salt – 1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp

Procedure: –

  • Follow all the above steps.
  • When you add roasted cumin powder, at that time add red chilly powder, garam masala.
  • Mix well.
  • It’s ready to be served with paratha, chapatti, e.t.c.
  • You can also store in air tight container under Refrigeration.
