Taro Roots (Arbi)

How to make Arbi

Ingredients Required: –

  • Taro Roots (Arbi)- 5-6 (boiled, peeled and cut in cubes)
  • Tomatoes- 1 medium sized (chopped)
  • Onion- 1 small (chopped)
  • Green chilly-2 (silted)
  • Ginger- 2 inch piece (grated)
  • Carom seeds (ajwain)- 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida- a pinch
  • Oil- 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves- 2 tbsp

Species

  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Dried coriander powder- 1 tsp
  • Garam masala- 1/4 tsp

Procedure: –

  • First of all, take kadai and heat oil in it and crackle cumin seeds, carom seeds with asafoetida.
  • Now for a minute cook ginger and green chillies in it and then add onion and cook till it turn pink.
  • Now add tomatoes and cook till mushy in the meanwhile add the ingredients under spices and cook.
  • After this add arbi in it and cook for 2-3 minutes and at end add fresh coriander leaves.

Arbi

  • Its ready… served hot with chapatti. 

Notes: –

  • It can be made in different style too, for that ingredients required are given below.

  • Fresh coriander leaves- 2 tbsp

Procedure: –

  • First of all, take kadai and heat oil in it and crackle cumin seeds, carom seeds with asafoetida.
  • Now add spices and arbi pieces and cook on low flame.
  • Mix well and then off the flame.
  • Its ready to be served hot with chapatti.

Arbi

  • Garnish with kasuri methi(optional).
